In the past few months, Evergreen Special Adventure Club (ESAC) has resumed outdoor adventures.
We’ve hiked trails at multiple parks to include Bear Creek, North and South Table Mountain, Apex, Matthew Winters, Red Rocks and Beaver Brook Watershed to name a few.
This past weekend, we had a great day snowshoeing in Evergreen Colorado. Many of the participants had never snowshoed before but jumped right in and plowed through the mountain snow. After the snowshoe, we cooked our lunch: Greek Chicken Gyros with Tzatziki Sauce. We enjoyed the meal together, shared stories, and laughed a lot.
It was a day to enjoy and appreciate nature, be with friends, feel the acceleration of climbing a mountain and just have fun.
Our Adventure Club is open to special needs teens and adults who our interested in outdoor adventures and making new friends. No previous experience needed.
We run our programs with the help of volunteers who are passionate about the outdoors and working with the special needs population.
