Evergreen Special Adventure Club is announcing a new online presence with a focus on promoting its mission to benefit special needs participants (age 16+) with the support of area organizations.

We want our clients to experience the thrill and independence of outdoor activities. The freedom and beauty of experiencing the outdoor world, while taken for granted by many of us, is a rare experience for those with developmental challenges. Our mission — to give individuals with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to experience nature through outdoor adventure challenges. – requires the support of the entire community.

– Co-Founders Maren Schreiber and Martha Lynch-Biasi

The Evergreen Special Adventure Club is focused on the following goals:

  • To improve physical and psychological well-being.
  • To teach values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
  • To provide opportunities to develop leadership and life skills.
  • To educate on a variety of related subjects: conservation, map reading, fire prevention, outdoor survival, first aid etc.
  • To partner with companies and foundations with common interests.
  • To engage the community and foster inclusion for all.

About Evergreen Special Adventure Club

Evergreen Special Adventure Club (ESAC) is a non-profit organization that was formed in 2019. While on a hike in their home-town of Evergreen, Colorado, co-founders Maren Schrieber and Martha Lynch-Biasi discussed their desire to bring outdoor adventure to those with intellectual disabilities. They wanted others to have the opportunity to feel the exhilaration of being in the outdoors and the satisfaction of reaching a mountain peak. This was the birth of the new non-profit.
